The Whitechapel phase 1 project is part of a new development in London called “Silk District.” The project is within walking distance of central London, close to Whitechapel station and the Royal London Hospital.

The “Silk District” consists of 3 residential blocks positioned around a piazza with private communal gardens. The commercial space on the first floor will house restaurants, cafes and stores. Whitechapel phase 1 consists of two blocks with a low-rise section and a 21-story tower.

In addition, there is a local gym, lounge area, private cinema and the accessible rooftops are arranged as roof-top gardens. The low-rise blocks and towers have already been completed and occupied by the end user.

TGM Facades UK Ltd. developed the windows and doors of the low-rise blocks with juliette balconies for this project. The tower consists of an aluminum element façade with steel ‘bolt on balconies’ and an aluminum curtain wall on the first floor. The building is completed with the ‘Halo’ steel structure at roof level.
