The new complements the old. A textbook example of how a modern façade can form a striking contrast to a cherished historic building and yet be completely in harmony with it. The refined glass façades are suspended from a series of steel pillars. TGM developed, delivered and assembled the steel supports fitted against the pillars, making precision dimensioning possible for a perfectly level glass façade. The glass façade has no aluminium profiles. The glass was surface-mounted, clamped into place pane by pane and sealed with seam sealant. The juncture points between the historic building, the new concrete façades and the structural glass façades are dry and sustainable.
